FastForward Innovations Limited’s (LON: FFWD) portfolio firm EMMAC has launched Medican, the UK’s first operational distance medical cannabis pharmacy, dedicated to fulfilling medical cannabis prescriptions.

Medican is a division of EMMAC’s subsidiary, Rokshaw Limited, a leading UK EU-GMP certified Specials manufacture, and as Rokshaw’s registered pharmacy, in conjunction with Rokshaw’s existing licenses allows for the import, manufacture and securely deliver medical cannabis products to UK patients.
FastForward owns a 2.4% stake in EMMAC.
EMMAC said Medican has already processed over 100 medical cannabis prescriptions in the UK. As part of the EMMAC Life Sciences Group of companies, Medican is able to leverage a vertically integrated supply chain, intended to create value for predominantly self-funded private patients at this time.

McDermott also updates on an earlier announcement from EMMAC highlighting that it exported 400 kilograms of medical cannabis to the Bazelet Group – the largest medical cannabis company in Israel.

FastForward Innovations investee company becomes the first supplier to export medical cannabis to Israel. EMMAC’s crop came from the Terra Verde facility, in Portugal, and was sold to Bazelet Group.
“EMMAC is very pleased to be the first independent European company to export medical cannabis to Israel through our partnership with Bazelet, supplying the highest-quality product to meet growing patient demand for medical cannabis,” said chief executive Antonio Costanzo.
FastForward shares were steady at 7.2p in early trading on Tuesday.
