EMMAC now licensed to cultivate medical cannabis in Spain

EMMAC Life Sciences Group, Europe’s largest independent cannabis company, is pleased to announce that Medalchemy, the Group’s Good Manufacturing Practice (“GMP”) certified manufacturing site in Alicante, Spain has secured approval from the Spanish Health Authorities (“AEMPS”) to cultivate medical cannabis. Medalchemy now has fully integrated cannabis supply facilities, with a licence to grow medical cannabis commercially as well as extract and manufacture cannabis extract as an active pharmaceutical ingredient (“API”).

Run The Jewels have launched their own strain of cannabis, which they’ve called Ooh La La. The pair have named the strain after their song ‘ooh la la’, from their fourth studio album ‘RTJ4’, released in June.

California Bill Offers Banking Support For Cannabis Businesses


A proposed new California bill, AB 1525, would give banking institutions and accountants the green light to work with cannabis businesses.

The bill will be addressed when lawmakers return this week, according to Bloomberg, and it proposes to allow financial services, including public accounting services, to help commercial cannabis activity without being at risk of committing a crime.

Democrats defeat legal cannabis platform amendment

The Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) platform committee on Monday rejected an amendment calling on the party to support marijuana legalization as an official 2020 policy plank.

Several delegates testified in favor of the proposal, arguing that legalization and ending the war on drugs will help resolve racial inequities and stimulate the economy. But following discussion of the measure, it was shot down in a 50-106 vote, with three abstentions.
