Aurora Cannabis Inc. said Monday that co-Founder and former Chief Executive Terry Booth is retiring from its board. Booth was CEO of the Canadian cannabis company from December 2014 through February 2020 and served on the board since 2014.

QLD GPs Can Now Prescribe Medicinal Marijuana

New legislation has passed in Queensland which will make it far easier for chronic pain sufferers to acquire medical marijuana. The move will mean any registered medical practitioner, including GPs, can prescribe medical cannabis “if they believe it is clinically appropriate and have obtained the required Commonwealth,” as per Queensland Health.

Support for Cannabis Legalisation Continues to Grow in New Zealand

The latest poll of New Zealand’s voters has revealed a further rise in support for cannabis legalisation. The public is set to vote on the Cannabis Legalisation and Control Bill in less than three months. Votes for the referendum will be taken alongside ballots for the General Election in September.

The latest survey, commissioned by medical cannabis company Helius Therapeutics and carried out by Horizon Research, revealed that 56% of New Zealanders support cannabis reform. This total is up from 54% in a February survey. The Horizon Research June survey marks the sixth in a series of comprehensive surveys tracking public opinion on cannabis legalisation.
